Despite wonderful weather, only a handful of members attended the maintenance weekend which resulted in only some essential tasks being completed.
I would like to remind all members, that the club exists due to its membership and if maintenance cannot be achieved by its members, expensive contractors will have to be hired and membership fees would need to be increased.
It has become a routine of “the same old faces” who turn up to help. Very sad and very unnecessary.
Much more work, including deleading of the backstop, is required before the winter. I do hope for a better turnout for the workdays in November, but the weather will be against us then.
