Derby Rifle and Pistol Club held their annual Open Weekend attracting over 140 competitors who entered over 900 events. Top competitors from all over the UK attended and the weekend included a “friendly Home Countries International Match” between England, Scotland and Wales.
Many thanks are due to Jim Smith and his club members who must have worked very hard to organise the event which included feeding the masses with bacon rolls and burgers, and working during a heatwave with temperatures approaching 30 degrees Celsius every day. All the range crew deserve appreciation for their dedication and stamina. Fortunately no ambulances nor paramedics were required!
RESULTS of the International Matches:
Gallery Rifle Small Bore: England
Gallery Rifle Centre fire: England
Long Barrelled Pistol: England
Long Barrelled Revolver: Scotland
While we await release of the results, here is the usual selection of photos which I hope captures the momentum of the weekend. Much rather be here than Glastonbury!!
Prizes were numerous thanks to the generosity of many sponsors. I have included many photos and apologise if there are any that persons prefer not to be published. If so, please contact Jim Smith and I will remove any offending articles.
