Farewell to Jack Aitken of the SPA

Today brought the Colmsliehill 2014 series to a close and a good turnout welcomed the end of an era during which we as shooters have been tutored, bullied, humoured, and welcomed to the sport by Jack Aitken, President and Chief Range Officer of the Scottish Pistol Association for several decades.

I first met Jack in the mid 1980’s during the good ole days of pistol shooting, and there has hardly been an SPA event where he has not been present. Totally dedicated to the shooting sport, Jack has given his all, many occasions at JSPC included, even when help was in short supply. Mind you, so is his temper at times!

Colin, JSPC Chairman, presented Jack with an engraved JSPC crystal plaque in memory of his times at Colmsliehill.

We all wish Jack a happy retirement, but I have a feeling that is not the last we will see of him!

Good Luck Jack. You deserve some time off.
