JSPC COMPETITIONS 21 JULY 2013

Thanks to all those who came to take part in the club competitions on a beautiful warm (hot) summer day.

Especially so to the new probationers Anna and David. Also the usual thanks to our two members Phil and Bill from Northumbria who travel up each Sunday to join our enjoyment and try to keep me on my toes.

JSPC has always been a competitive club and we welcome new members who are willing to join in that tradition.

We hold a series of club competitions throughout the year, which utilise all the armaments that we are allowed to hold for target shooting. Colin also tries to make the competitions appealing to all members, regardless of age, sex or abilities.

For those who want something a bit more demanding, the Open competitions attract shooters from the whole of the United Kingdom, not just Scotland.

Here are the results. If there are any scores missing, I was not given scorecards. Without those, no scores can be recorded.

The above competition results were very close and resulted in many ties. It was therefore put to Robert Brodie to devise one of his usual devious competitions to form a tiebreak, which was used to settle all the above same score results.

Robert came up with a blistering modification of a 1500 stage.

Centrefire rifle, loaded with six but not made ready. Laid on table. Start position back to table, hands at surrender.

On start signal, turn and engage half sized TP1 target at 20 metres with six reload six, all in 28 seconds.

Great fun. That sorted the results!!!
