JSPC SPRING OPEN 2014 COMPETITORS AND STAFF
Summer arrived for the Easter weekend and about time too.
Despite the holiday traffic warnings, competitors came from Aberdeen, Dundee, Cumbria and Northumbria to take part in what has become a very popular event in Scotland.
I wish to thank all of those who attended and the JSPC members who turned up to help staff the range. Special thanks to our Chef Tam who supplied us with hot food over the two days.
Thanks to Colin for his printing work and medal organisation, and sitting at the timer for hours on end.
To Bill for his (almost) inexhaustable duties as chief range officer, and to Robert J for his hard work on the stats.
I am very grateful for the Adobe skills of Joey to amalgamate the two days attendance photo seen above.
For those not familiar with the format, the competition involves three gallery rifle events:
Timed and Precision One (TP1)
Multi Target (MT)
Phoenix A
and has four seperate entries for Gallery Rifle Centrefire, Gallery Rifle Smallbore, Long Barreled Pistol (LBP) and Long Barreled Revolver (LBR).
So twelve competitions up for grabs.
Two magnificent trophies;
one for AGGREGATE OF CF PLUS SB
one for AGGREGATE OF LBP PLUS LBR.

As you will see, one competitor stood out above all others and that was Jonnie Cormie from Dundee, who won more medals than anyone else and took the trophy for the aggregate of CF + SB.
Congratulations to Jonnie and also to Dave Green from Low Mills who won the trophy for aggregate of LBP + LBR.

Jonnie got the slow handclap from his comrades in arms so I have selected only a few photos at the prize giving to save further embarassment.
Please note that many prize winners were absent from the presentation so could not be photographed.
For all those who missed out this time, there is always the next JSPC Open in the autumn.
Please do book early as we were pretty full last year.
The dates are SEPTEMBER 20th and 21st (the 19th being the range staff day, but limited slots are available for those wishing to lend a hand at preparing the range for the event.)
