The day was windy enough to blow the skittles over and we were on the edge of abandoning the event except for the determination of the members.
A good turnout and a lot of cheerfulness encouraged us to persevere, moving around the range with various items to see which could withstand the gusts of wind blowing up the range.
We eventually settled on blue plastic gas pipes standing on the sand near to the target stand.
Colin’s electronic wizardry placed a microphone behind a metal stop plate, and a buzzer to mark the start signal.
Five skittles to shoot down and hit the stop plate. Each shooter had two attempts, the better time accepted as your score.
Reactive targets are obviously popular and in no time the competitors were queueing up in nice orderly fashion.
Thanks to all those who took part and there were some surprised winners to finish a very enjoyable day.
Now we hope to see you all for the rest of the JSPC championship events.
