JSPC Championship 2011 Results

Editor’s Moans.

We have now come to the end of the competition season with the Timed and Precision 2 matches (TP2) being completed on Sunday 13th November.

I am shooter who enjoys competitions and I know that it is not for everyone. However, JSPC prides itself on a history of competitive shooting and hopefully, it will continue that way.

Most firearms are owned for the purpose of target shooting and it is assumed that they will be used for competitions. In fact, some Police forces want to know who shoots what and when.

Your Chairman has worked hard and long to produce a calender of events, as requested by members.

Club members have worked to produce target frames, pasted targets, attended work days to improve range conditions, etc, etc.

YET, more than 50 percent of the membership did not even bother to enter any of the FOURTEEN Championship matches organised for their benefit.

These included competitions for .22 rifle, Centre fire rifle, LBP, LBR, Muzzle loading pistol. (Check your cabinet).

It is disheartening for the committee to see these figures and we are left wondering what these members actually want from the club?

It has been suggested that we have a “Plinkers Day”. Perhaps as our Xmas Fun Shoot we could have unlimited sighters in 5 minutes then 10 shots to count in 10 minutes, from 25 metres, from ANY POSITION. Leaning, sitting, resting, kneeling, but no clamps!

How about it? Bring a prize, win a prize, and the winner takes first pick.

Comments/suggestions to the committee please.

EDITORS REPORT.

As mentioned, Colin has put more than a lot of effort into organising events over the year(s), and those that took part certainly enjoyed them. In fact, at the Open events, visitors from Cumbria, Galloway, Clyde Valley and Aberdeen look forward to coming to our competitions.

The winner of the Championship 2011 comes as no surprise.

When Robert J and his father first came to Colmsliehill, I could sense their competitive spirit. They have both put their hands into their wallets, got some decent gear, watched, waited and practised, and practised more. Both are in the Scotland Gallery Rifle Squad, along with five other JSPC members. Robert J has gone from strength to strength and has now proved himself to be the top shooter in the club. (We will not let him stay that way without some competitve pressure though).

Congratulations Robert J, and here are the final results.
