Hello and HUGE Thanks to all competitors who joined us over the past few days for the JSPC Spring Open Competition.
We were especially pleased to welcome familiar faces from the England and Wales Gallery Rifle Teams who ventured North for the first time. We hope that you enjoyed yourselves and are now able to tell your buddies that it is safe to travel past Birmingham.
Thanks also for the cakes and muffins you brought to supplement Pauline’s catering. I certainly enjoyed some of them!
Huge thanks also to all the JSPC members who turned out to staff the four days at the range, and especially to Pauline and Neil for the catering which was greatly appreciated by all who attended. To Bill Vaughan, CRO, who managed to keep his voice and stamina and to Colin Oswald for his timer work, and previous arrangements of all the paperwork, trophies and medals.
The Squadding Director not only did the computer work but also organised the paperwork so that competitors could collect their scorecards (Bisley style). His stats work is as good as it gets, if not better! Results were displayed within minutes, and final scores and aggregates similarly.
Anyway, here is a short report from the JSPC Squadding Director:

The weather was kind (for Scotland), and the Open went very well — we made up time on the schedule of events, and we actually had spare space in the car park! Our thanks to all who came along and took part, and made it such a special event.
Challenges were open until midnight on Thu 19th April. They are now final, and submitted to the NRA for incorporation into the national GR scores database.

COMMENT FROM THE WALES CAPTAIN:
Hi to All at JSPC and those who helped with the open weekend.
I want to express the thanks and appreciation from the Welsh team for a brilliant but all too brief weekends shooting. It was our first team visit and we could not have been made to feel any more welcome, even though we turned up with the minimum to put in a team.
The organisation, refreshments and genuine welcome, made the days shooting that we did manage worth all the effort. We will be back with a bigger team for another go.
Hope to see many of you at the next event whereever it may be.
Jon Avetoomyan
on behalf of the Welsh Team
COMMENT FROM THE ENGLAND CAPTAIN:
Sorry no “Photoshopped group” on this occasion. Many competitors asked but as we were there for four days, the task was too daunting. I tried to include as many competitors as possible, so if you have any objections to being displayed, please let us know and I will amend. To prevent hackers, there is no facility for comments on this site. Please direct any communications to:
FRIDAY 13TH APRIL. As you can see, warm clothing was required on another chilly Scottish day.
