Chris presents Colin with a portrait

The Joint Services Pistol Club Spring Action Weekend was highlighted by the presentation to Colin of a wonderful portrait produced by our very own, very talented, Graphic Artist Chris Douglas (not a bad shot either!).

Chris came up with the idea several weeks ago, as a token of thanks and appreciation for all the work, skills and enthusiasm that Colin gives to the club and to all its members. Whenever something goes wrong or a part needs repair (or to be made), everyone heads to Colin. He is invaluable and we know it!

So to the competitions. Changing weather; sunshine, rain, snow, wind, always freezing as you can see from the clothing did not deter our usual bunch of hardy shooters. Nor staff! I must give huge thanks to all those who gave up their time to attend, most on all three days, to ensure that the weekend was a success. Special thanks to Mrs Tonner who was “volunteered” by her husband Robert (Senior) and we were rewarded by bacon, egg, sausage rolls for breakfast and that was even before we fired a shot on both Saturday and Sunday. Robert served us on Friday some very good hearty food, obviously well trained by Mrs T.

Norman, Bill and Howard travelled from Northumberland all three days, and I guess the car must have been overloaded on the way back on Sunday with all the medals.

Thanks of course to all the competitors coming from as far as Low Mills ranges in Northumberland, Dundee, and Aberdeen.

We were sorry that several competitors were unable to attend due to illness and family committments and wish them all the very best. We do hope to see you all at the next meeting.

(Again I despair at the obvious lack of support from our “local” members whose numbers could be measured on two hands).

And now to the things that matter to the shooters; the results; published thanks to the efforts and brains of David who prefers to remain in the background. Thanks David.

Please remember that these scores are preliminary (subject to appeal supported by evidence eg., scan of personal part of score sheet ) before midnight on Thursday, final results to Neil at NRA Friday evening.

Windows 10 has just lost/deleted all my photo editing so I will have to start again! This is not the first time!

Next day, here we go again:
